Thornham & North Norfolk Coast Path (7 miles)
Walkers: Bloominjools, BBW, Mum, Dad, F & G
This walk starts at the old harbour at Thornham (could we find anyone in Thornham that knew they had an old harbour - you know sometimes its the devil's own job find the start of these walks!) and then goes along the North Norfolk Coastal path to Holme-next-the-Sea. There are lovely views of the coast and sandy beaches and the creeks where wading and other sea birds can be seen.
The walk then turns away from the coast and passes through the lovely village of Holme-next-the-Sea is where wooden 'sea henge' was recently discovered and in which I can only imagine the house prices! The houses were all built using local materials – even the new builds which makes a change from many I’ve been noticing in Surrey country villages recently which are just red brick modern things which don’t blend into their environment at all.
The return journey – gotta keep these walks circular! - is along tracks and country lanes, the last road having fantastic panoramic views of the coastline and which makes you suddenly realise that you’ve been going uphill without realising it. All in all, a lovely walk.
